Abstract Floods in Barsa River (Bhutan) have been identified as the most hazardous events
of varying magnitudes at Pasakha industrial area located close to the river. There have been
two devastating floods in 1996 and 2000, and some small ones during the recent past.
Pasakha is one of the major areas selected for industrial development in Bhutan so it is
