Methods: Monitoring was undertaken according to our epidural protocol. Pain scores (at rest
and on movement) were used to identify efficacy using a 4 point verbal score. A variety of
interventions were used and outcome measured 30 minutes later. Success was identified by
a decrease in the pain score of at least one point.
