Abstract
Introduction: The aim of the present research was to study the factorial structure, reliability and validity of Obsessive Beliefs Questionnaire–child version (OBQ-CV) in a group of adolescents in Isfahan City. Method: The sample included 324 none clinical student of Isfahan City which selected randomly and a sample of 15 obsessive compulsive patients aged 14-17 were also filled the questionnaire afterwards. Exploratory factor analyses identified four factors including: 1-Importance/Control of Thoughts, 2-Perfectionism/Certainty, 3-Responsibility and 4-Threat Estimation. Concurrent validity of the OBQCV has been studied through correlational analysis with the Children's Yale-Brown Obsessive Compulsive Scale and MOCI.
Results: The results revealed positive correlations among the OBQ-CV and CY-BOCS, OBQ-CV and MOCI. Also this version showed substantial divergent validity with depression and anxiety measures. Test-retest reliability coefficient of the questionnaire arrived to 0/673 in two weeks, internal consistency (Cronbach’s Alpha) of 0/81. About possible differences among male and female groups no significant t-Test measure was found. No significant difference observed for age groups as well. Instead study of the clinical/nonclinical groups indicated significant difference between this groups. Conclusion: The correlation between these four factors indicates appropriate conformity for the OBQCV questionnaire and meets the aims of the questionnaire for adolescents. Also it could be concluded that there are strong link between obsessive-compulsive beliefs and OCD symptoms. Kaywords: Factorial structure, Reliability, Validity, The Obsessive Beliefs Questionnaire–child version (OBQ-CV).
