How can relationships be repaired after being damaged? There is a small but growing body
of work on the topic from a number of different disciplinary perspectives using different
theoretical lenses and at different levels of analysis. We begin by examining the existing
streams of work on relationship repair and organizing them into a conceptual framework. We
then consider four questions that probe assumptions or overlooked issues in existing
research with the intent of moving toward a more comprehensive conceptual foundation.
