The Roundtable of Academia and Industry for Stroke Prevention conference convened a
panel to discuss important topics to advance the treatment and prevention of large-vessel
disease. We focused on atherosclerotic pathologies involving the aortic arch, extracranial
carotid and vertebral arteries, intracranial proximal arteries, and cervical arterial dissections.
The panel did not address autoimmune and inflammatory pathologies or Moya-Moya
disease/syndrome.
