SUMMARY MR imaging has been applied to a number of malignant and benign
musculoskeletal abnormalities. Although the appearance of most of these lesions does not
yet appear specific for the diseases in question, it is likely that further clinical experiences
and refinements in imaging technique may result in such specificity. Preliminary results
suggest that MR imaging may be superior to CT in defining abnormalities of both bone
