In the vast region of Siberia there are only seven Paleolithic localities with human remains.
These sites are situated in the southern part of Siberia: 1) in Eastern Siberia a double child
burial at the Malta [or Mal'ta] site near the city of Irkutsk (Alekseev and Gokhman, 1987;
