Accumulation of unfolded proteins in the endoplasmic reticulum initiates intracellular
signaling termed the unfolded protein response (UPR). Although Xbp1 serves as a pivotal
transcription factor for the UPR, the physiological role of UPR signaling and Xbp1 in the
