A 1V 1.8 GHz Low Power Differential Colpitts VCO

In this paper, the design and simulation results of a low power Colpitts VCO operating at 1.8
GHz are presented, with the supply voltage as low as 1 V, using the 0.18 mu CMOS process.
The simulated performance characterizes in the power consumption of 2.5 mW, the phase
noise of-120dBc and-124.3 dBc at offsets of 600KHz and 1 MHz, respectively, and a
frequency tuning range of 10.3%. When it works with a Vdd of 0.8 V, the VCO consumes a
power of 1.2 mW
