This article is in response to George Graen's critique of the Global Leadership and
Organizational Effectiveness (GLOBE) research program appearing in this issue. The
authors criticize Graen for not having fully read and comprehended the academic literature
on the GLOBE methodology. The authors answer criticisms about bias in the sampling and
questionnaires. Emphasis is placed on the creation of more than one hundred Country Co-
