A novel, low cost technique that can be used for bulk production of calcium carbonate
nanoparticles for possible use in industry, agriculture and medicine is described in the
present paper. Calcium carbonate nanoparticles were synthesized by thermolysis of
precursor molecule calcium oxalate and characterized by particle size analysis, zeta

Abstract
A novel, low cost technique that can be used for bulk production of calcium carbonate nanoparticles for possible use in industry, agriculture and medicine is described in the present paper. Calcium carbonate nanoparticles were synthesized by thermolysis of precursor molecule calcium oxalate and characterized by particle size analysis, zeta potential measurement, scanning electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis. Quasi-spherical shaped calcium carbonate nanoparticles with mean diameter of 96.7 nm were generated that were confirmed by XRD analysis. The zeta potential of the prepared calcium carbonate nanoparticle was − 15.28 mV.
