Interpretation of data collected from adult goats maintained under semi-intensive
management system of Chhattisgarh plains revealed that June to August were the months of
high risk for nematodosis. Haemonchus sp. was the dominant species recorded throughout
the year, while Cooperia sp., Bunostomum sp. and Trichostrongylus sp. showed their
occasional presence particularly during rainy season. The possible strategy to control
caprine parasite gastroenteritis is discussed.
