An operationally simple three-component coupling of tetrahydroisoquinoline (THIQ),
aldehydes and indoles or indole-3-carboxylic acids has been achieved using chitosan-ionic
liquid supported FeCl 3 (chit-IL@ FeCl 3) as a recyclable heterogeneous catalyst. The
