Abstract
Cognitive control refers to the control of external interface via brain-induced signals. This work presents the control of an ankle rehabilitation robot through cognitive states of attention and relaxation. The developed system used Emotiv-based neuroheadset for acquisition of raw EEG signals. The input state is recognized from theta to beta ratio of power spectral density value of the signal, for real-time classification of control signals. The included participants were able to successfully control the rehabilitation device based on their cognitive state. The developed approach holds application in the area of ankle therapy and rehabilitation.
