Reversible changes induced by a polystyrene matrix on the photochemistry of two
derivatives of N-salicylidene aniline were investigated by steady–state and time resolved
spectroscopy. The photosensitivity of N-salicylidene-p-cyanoaniline (SA-CN) and N-
salicylidene-p-carboxyaniline (SA-COOH) upon insertion in the matrix was tested by
