Continuous emulsion polymerization of vinyl acetate. Part III: Detection of reactor performance by turbidity‐spectra and liquid exclusion chromatography
The Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, 1980•Wiley Online Library
Herein is reported an experimental evaluation of turbidity‐spectra and of liquid exclusion
chromatography (LEC) for the online and offline monitoring of polymer particle size during
the continuous emulsion polymerization of vinyl acetate. It is shown that these analytical
techniques satisfactorily follow the change of particle size for reactor operation under
conditions of sustained oscillations.
