1.3 Objective In this study, the material efficiency of the shredder blade is to be increased to reduce its production and operational cost. Virtual prototyping technique is integrated with the topology optimization framework to produce lightweight shredder blade. The effectiveness of the proposed approach is demonstrated by 24.7% reduction in the system weight without compromising the system integrity.
