Excluded volume and viscosity effects of crowding agents that mimic crowded conditions in
vivo on “classical” burst phase folding kinetics of cytochrome c are assessed in vitro. Upon
electron transfer-triggered folding of reduced cytochrome c, far-UV time-resolved circular
