Abstract
This Thesis has for objective to understand the notion of indigenous body, more specifically as the Kaingang constructs in specific and traditional way its notion of force; to appraise what I call Etno-Sport-recognizing the related corporal identity to the identity of the Sport; e to demonstrate as the mimesis of the Soccer, practiced for the Kaingang in such a way occupies a central place in the ones in the social relations of re-insertion with the Fóg society. In almost all indigenous lands (Terra Indígenas-TIs) Kaingang, soccer assumes fundamental importance, allowing the native interaction within lands, among the Native lands, and between Native and city teams. The sociological and mimetic aspects of soccer are essentially visible among the Kaingang from Paraná (South of Brazil), such as: the soccer field are located in the heart of the lands; the Kaingang Indians often get together to play and to watch the “peladas”(soccer played in the field with rules slightly changed); the Kaingang teams compete against local urban teams from Palmas and neighboring areas; some Kaingang Indians belong to the local urban team and play in and regional championships; the Kaingang cultural notions of the body and strength are reflected in the field. This Thesis intends to offer an example of the dynamic between the cultural values attributed from the integration with the “white people” and the ethnic affirmation/identity of the Kaingang. This analysis denotes the concept who I called Etno-Sport. It is necessary to stand out that to anthropological knows to them they have something of valuable to demonstrate on as the corporal constructions can be important for the Physical Education, either, for example, in the scope of the planning of education that happen on popular and particular groups, either in the research on corporalidade, its performance and technique. Without a doubt, the ethnographic agreement is sufficiently promising in this direction.
