Implicit hole cutting-a new approach to overset grid connectivity
YL Lee, J Baeder - 16th AIAA Computational Fluid Dynamics …, 2003 - arc.aiaa.org
A different approach to structured grid connectiv-ity in overset method is discussed and
several related concepts introduced. It is based om a cell selection process instead of the
traditional hole cut-ting as an essential ingredient. Hole cutting is a byproduct of this process
and the holes that arise are both automatically optimum and not affected by any imperfection
on the wall surface. Furthermore, the solver does not need to blank out invalid hole points for
solution update. It relies on the mathomatical proporty of hyporbolicity to provont …
