Abstract
The past half-decade has seen the applied sciences in the throes of acute growing pains. In what has become known as the replication crisis, widespread failures to replicate prior findings have shaken several fields, including medicine, psychology, management, and economics. Fortunately, the systemic problems brought to light by the replication crisis have also ignited a “credibility revolution”(Vazire, 2018). This paper provides a brief review of some of the core issues identified in the replication crisis, followed by a discussion of current reform efforts and their potential application in education research.
