Alzheimer's disease (AD) is characterized by two neuropathological hallmarks: senile
plaques, which are composed of amyloid-β (Aβ) peptides, and neurofibrillary tangles, which
are composed of hyperphosphorylated tau protein. Aβ peptides are derived from sequential
