In this paper, the efficiency of Iranian Railway is evaluated using Data Envelopment Analysis
(DEA) method. In this way, the railway activities from 1971 to 2004 are considered and the
efficiency of each year is calculated and compared to the other years. Also, the results of ten
years are shown efficient. The railway efficiency in the years after 1995 are shown as
efficient years, except the year 2000 which is considerable from the view of management
and decision making.
