Abstract
The characteristics of minor programs are still unclear in terms of exact preferences when projected on Gardner's theory of intelligence. Therefore, clustering techniques are used to determine the intelligence preference characteristics of each minor program. This study aims to find the relationship between a certain type of intelligence and the minor program chosen by students by analyzing multiple intelligence scores and the classification of minor programs. Quantitative methods were used in this study by processing data using a cluster analysis technique approach. The data used are from students taking the minor program and obtained through a questionnaire from the ongoing minor program participants. The analysis was carried out by grouping the minor programs based on the type of multiple intelligences possessed by each student, and the clustering technique was carried out using the t-Test and calculating the Euclidean distance based on the multiple intelligence aspect as an element of the Euclidean space dimension. The results show that the clustering technique used gives consistent results with the different tests and the Euclidean technique. This research has important benefits, namely, it can help minor program participants determine the right career path by understanding the potential of individual intelligence in every aspect of multiple intelligences. Additionally, the results of this research can also assist universities or colleges in improving and adjusting the offered minor programs to meet the needs and interests of students. Thus, this research can make a significant contribution to the development of educational programs and future career decision-making for students.
