Osmium catalysis in the reductive amination using carbon monoxide as a reducing agent
MM Vinogradov, OI Afanasyev, YV Nelyubina… - Molecular …, 2020 - Elsevier
A systematic study of the osmium-catalyzed reductive amination reaction using carbon
monoxide as a reducing agent is presented. Seven cationic, anionic, and neutral osmium
complexes with various ligands (including Cl−, arene, Cp*, CO, and pyridine) were
synthesized and tested under different conditions.[(cymene) OsCl 2] 2 (0.5%) in the
presence of a silver salt was found to be optimal. Pleasingly, the developed methodology
could be applied to aliphatic and aromatic aldehydes and ketones as well as primary and …
