This document provides a new transcription of Pagolo di Matteo Petriboni's short account of the Council of Florence (1438-1439), here annotated with commentary, along with the first translation into English. Illustrations of the source manuscript folios in the Biblioteca Nazionale in Florence are included. The aim is to highlight this little known account of the Council of Florence, and to place it within the context of the many ecclesiastical sources relating to the Council. The original is part of a longer document by Petriboni and Matteo di Borgo Rinaldi that is known as a Priorista, a list of those holding the highest offices in the Florentine Republic (the priori) plus a short account of the events that took place during their period in office. The Priorista is simultaneously private and civic in character.
