Pervasive gender inequities in the frequency and severity of neurologic and
neuropsychiatric disorders remain unexplained. The complexity of humans precludes ready
separation of biology from experience and environment. Only by understanding
mechanisms can we identify novel avenues for therapeutic treatment and prevention.
