We present results on the effect of extension and compression on liquid crystal filaments
formed in the B7 phase of bent-core mesogens. There are three distinct temperature
regimes in which substantially different structures may form along the filament. The formation
of these structures also depends on the velocity at which the filament is extended or
compressed.
