The research purpose is to investigate the expression of suicidal thoughts and attempted suicide on female university students and compare it with students without suicidal behavior, their linkages with other people will be taken into account. Methodology descriptive design was used, the investigation was conducted on colombian universities, with 1055 female university students between 18 and 25 years. A questionnaire was designed which was later validated by judges, the questionnaire was applied to the female students in order to identify suidical toughts or attempted suicide. The information was processed by Epindifo version 10, which is a software for managing data bases for public health surveillance. The main findings were: Students which have not had suicide behaviour qualify their links as very good, so it can be affirm that the quality of the links is a protective factor against self-destructive behavior. It was identified that students with suicidal thoughts, attempted suicide, omissions in self-care, selfdestructive behaviors; have weaker links with their father figure than with their mother figure, so it is necessary to devise strategies to transform link relationship between the father, the daughter and all the family, to strengthen the family health. The link with the mother apparently strengthens health and counteracts the effects that turn repeat multigenerational patterns associated with suicidal behavior.
