Abstract
In this paper, a new min-type control law is designed for interleaved boost converters. Compared to pulse-width modulation based controllers, switched linear equations are used in the controller design procedure. Therefore, the proposed controller presents faster transient responses. In order to improve the reliability and efficiency of the converter, equal current sharing is considered in the proposed scheme. Global exponential stability of the proposed switched linear system is guaranteed using Lyapunov stability theory. In order to ensure robust performance, parameters of the switched linear controller are designed via LMI optimization. Results of the proposed controller are compared with those of a conventional PI controller. Performance of the proposed scheme is tested in a number of simulations and experiments. It is shown that the switched linear scheme maximizes the conversion efficiency of photovoltaic sources. Compared to PI control schemes, the proposed scheme can increase the conversion efficiency under different irradiance levels.
