BACKGROUND: Delayed cerebral ischemia is common after aneurysmal subarachnoid
hemorrhage (aSAH) and is a major contributor to poor outcome. Yet, although generally
attributed to arterial vasospasm, neurological deterioration may also occur in the absence of
