Discussion This patient had a large ulcerating exophytic mass arising from the posterior lesser curvature and body of the stomach, which was excised and confirmed to be a leiomyosarcoma. The mass had many characteristic features of a lei-omyosarcoma. It was a large exophytic mass arising from the stomach containing calcifica-tions and a large central area of necrotic ulcer-ation. This large, tube-shaped, air-containing ulcer within the mass exhibited a finding that, to my knowledge, has not previously been described with reference to gastric leiomyosar-coma: A vertical stream of air bubbles was seen arising from the ulcer mouth and extending superiorly to the gastric air-fluid level. A small amount of gastric fluid could be seen beginning to accumulate at the floor of the ulcer. The Torricelli-Bemoulli sign is a previously undescribed sign that may be observed on CT as a stream of air bubbles arising from an ulcerating neoplasm into a fluid-filled viscus. This sign may be used to identify ulcerating neoplasms ofthe gastrointestinal tract (Fig. 1).
