Precleaned cotton seeds were treated with various combinations of KCl, CCC [chlormequat],
plant extracts and chlorine (CaOCl2+ CaCO3). CCC alone decreased seedling growth and
vigour index. Field emergence was highest with 1% leaf extract of each of pungam
[Pongamia pinnata] and Prosopis. Seed germination and vigour index were highest from this
treatment plus chlorine. The combined treatment also gave the highest vigour and seedling
growth following accelerated aging.
