Neo-mannosylated liposomes have been prepared by coupling a mannose derivative
bearing a hydrophilic spacer arm to preformed large unilamellar liposomes containing 4-(p-
maleimidophenyl) butyryl-phosphatidylethanolamine. Lipopolysaccharide (LPS) was
encapsulated in normal or neo-mannosylated liposomes; the neo-mannosylated vesicles
