Abstract
The Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale--Third Edition (WAIS-III; Wechsler, 1997) was developed to measure intelligence. The WAIS-III comprises 14 subtests (ie, Vocabulary, Similarities, Information, Comprehension, Block Design, Matrix Reasoning, Picture Completion, Picture Arrangement, Coding, Symbol Search, Working Memory Index: Digit Span, Letter–Number Sequencing, Arithmetic). In a study by Cockcroft et al.(2015) the WAIS-III was administered to an English second language, multilingual, low socioeconomic group of black, South African university students and compared to a sample of British undergraduate students.
