Fetal growth, birth weight specific mortality rates and effect of sick leave or hospitalization on
the fetal growth were investigated in a material of 476 twin pregnancies managed at
University Central Hospital of Turku in year 1970–1981. Birth weights of twin babies at any
gestational age were slightly but not significantly higher than in earlier materials. When
