Lolines (saturated 1-aminopyrrolizidines with an oxygen bridge) are insecticidal alkaloids
produced in symbioses of certain Epichloë (anamorph-Neotyphodium) species (fungal
endophytes) with grasses, particularly of the genera Lolium and Festuca. Prior to the present
